Authorship Policy and COI Policy

Authorship Policy

Advances in Economic Studies follows internationally accepted principles of authorship to ensure that authorship credit is granted only to individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions to the research and preparation of the manuscript.

All listed authors are expected to uphold the principles of academic integrity, transparency, accountability, and ethical research throughout the publication process.

Criteria for Authorship

An individual qualifies as an author only if they have:

  • Made substantial contributions to the conception, design, data collection, analysis, or interpretation of the research
  • Participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content
  • Approved the final version of the manuscript before submission
  • Agreed to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the published work

Individuals who provide technical assistance, administrative support, funding acquisition, or language editing should be acknowledged appropriately but should not be listed as authors unless they satisfy the authorship criteria.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all eligible contributors are appropriately listed as authors
  • Confirm that every author has reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript
  • Serve as the primary contact between the journal and all co-authors
  • Ensure compliance with the journal's ethical and publication policies

Changes in Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission must:

  • Be submitted in writing by the corresponding author
  • Provide a clear explanation for the requested change
  • Include written consent from all listed authors, including any author being added or removed

The journal reserves the right to decline authorship changes that do not comply with accepted publication ethics.

Authorship Disputes

If an authorship dispute arises, editorial processing may be suspended until the matter has been resolved by the authors or their affiliated institutions. The journal does not adjudicate disputes concerning authorship ownership.

Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy

Advances in Economic Studies is committed to maintaining transparency, objectivity, and integrity in scholarly publishing. Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any relationships or interests that could influence the research, peer review, or publication process.

Disclosure Requirements

Authors should disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest, including:

  • Research funding or financial support
  • Employment, consultancy, or advisory positions
  • Honoraria, grants, equity interests, or stock ownership
  • Patent applications or other intellectual property interests
  • Personal, academic, or institutional relationships that may influence the research

If no conflict exists, authors should include the statement: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."

Editorial and Reviewer COI

Editors and reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality and must withdraw from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

Failure to Disclose Conflicts

  • Rejection of the submitted manuscript
  • Publication of corrections or conflict disclosures
  • Retraction of published articles in serious cases
  • Other editorial actions considered appropriate by the Editorial Board

Ethical Commitment

The journal is committed to making editorial decisions solely on the basis of scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, ethical integrity, and relevance to the journal's scope, without influence from commercial, financial, or personal interests.
