Authorship Policy

Advances in Sociology, Psychology & Human Behavior follows internationally recognized ethical authorship standards to ensure that authorship credit is assigned only to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.

All listed authors are expected to uphold the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout the publication process.

Criteria for Authorship

An individual qualifies as an author only if they have:

  • Made substantial contributions to the conception, design, analysis, or interpretation of the study
  • Drafted or critically revised the manuscript for important intellectual content
  • Approved the final version before submission
  • Agreed to take responsibility for the integrity of the work

Individuals contributing through technical assistance, funding acquisition, administrative support, or language editing should be acknowledged separately and not listed as authors.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities

  • Ensure all eligible contributors are appropriately listed as authors
  • Confirm that all authors approved the submitted manuscript
  • Manage communication between the journal and co-authors
  • Ensure compliance with ethical publishing requirements

Changes in Authorship

Requests for addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after submission must:

  • Be submitted in writing by the corresponding author
  • Include a clear explanation for the requested change
  • Be approved by all listed authors, including affected authors

The journal reserves the right to reject authorship changes that do not comply with ethical publishing standards.

Authorship Disputes

In cases of authorship disputes, editorial processing may be suspended until the matter is resolved by the authors’ affiliated institutions or appropriate authorities.

Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy

Advances in Sociology, Psychology & Human Behavior is committed to maintaining transparency, objectivity, and integrity in scholarly publishing. All participants in the publication process must disclose any relationships or interests that could influence the research or publication process.

Disclosure Requirements

Authors must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest, including:

  • Research funding or financial support
  • Employment, consultancy, or advisory roles
  • Honoraria, grants, or stock ownership
  • Patent applications or intellectual property interests
  • Personal, academic, or institutional relationships

If no conflict exists, authors should state: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

Editorial and Reviewer COI

Editors and reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their objectivity and must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts exist.

Failure to Disclose Conflicts

  • Rejection of the manuscript
  • Publication of corrections or disclosures
  • Retraction of published articles in serious cases
  • Additional editorial actions when necessary

Ethical Commitment

The journal ensures that all publication decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, scientific quality, ethical integrity, and relevance to the journal’s scope, independent of commercial or personal interests.
