Plagiarism Policy

Journal of Political Science, Law & Governance is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to evaluate originality and similarity prior to peer review. Authors are expected to ensure that their submissions are entirely original and properly cited.

Author Responsibility

Authors must confirm that their submitted work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of the work and ideas of others is mandatory.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes the use of ideas, text, data, tables, figures, images, graphical material, legal documents, policy analyses, or other intellectual content from external sources without appropriate citation or permission. This also includes self-plagiarism, where authors reuse their own previously published material without proper disclosure or citation.

Citation and Attribution

Any material taken directly from another source must be appropriately cited. Verbatim text should be clearly identified using quotation marks or suitable formatting. Authors must provide accurate references for all cited sources.

Self-Plagiarism and Prior Publication

Reuse of content from theses, dissertations, working papers, conference proceedings, policy reports, government publications, or previously published work must be properly cited and disclosed during submission.

Figures, Tables, and Illustrations

Reproduction or adaptation of figures, charts, tables, diagrams, maps, legal frameworks, policy models, or illustrations from previously published sources without appropriate citation, acknowledgment, or permission is considered plagiarism.

Disclosure Requirements

Authors must disclose any significant overlap between the submitted manuscript and previously published or submitted work in the cover letter provided to the editor. Any related publications should be declared at the time of submission.

Editorial Action

In cases of suspected plagiarism, the Editorial Board will conduct an investigation in accordance with publication ethics guidelines. Depending on the severity of the issue, actions may include manuscript rejection, requests for correction, publication of notices, retraction of published articles, and notification to authors’ affiliated institutions where appropriate.

Publication Ethics

The journal follows internationally recognized ethical publishing standards and supports the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Allegations of plagiarism, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, authorship misconduct, and other ethical violations are handled according to established ethical procedures.
